Nik Silver Efex Pro Mac Software Silver Efex Pro for Lightroom v.1.0.0.7 Faithfully capturing the power and spirit of an era when black and white was the highest form of photographic expression, Silver Efex Pro from Nik Software is the most powerful tool for creating professional quality black and white images from your. Silver Efex is my 'go to' software for B&W conversions. Photoshop is good, but Silver Efex is far more versatile. The classic film emulations are great, and can be further tweaked to get just the right look. The availability of photo-savvy tools, like the colored filters, film grain controls and custom vignette options are terrific. Jan 21, 2018 The latest version of Silver Efex Pro 2 is 2.2 on Mac Informer. It is a perfect match for Viewers & Editors in the Design & Photo category. The app is developed by Nik Software, Inc and its user rating is 4 out of 5. Close out of Silver Efex Pro 2 (click Cancel), quit out of any and all host applications (Photoshop, Lightroom, Aperture), and then relaunch Silver Efex Pro 2 to see if this corrects this issue. If you are unable to disable the GPU via Settings or if the issue is still unresolved (e.g. Silver Efex Pro 2 crashes or the buttons are not displaying.
From Dynamic Brightness and Soft Contrast to Color Filters and Film Sensitivity, Silver Effects has everything you've come to expect from a black and white processing studio and more!
On March 30th, 2017, Google formally announced that they'd abandoned the Nik suite of image editing applications. The suite is free to use indefinitely, but will no longer receive any updates. Windows 10 isn’t even formally supported. Eventually an update will break the suite and everyone who depends on them for their post-processing work flow will be up the proverbial creek without the equally proverbial paddle.
That’s where we come in. Silver Effects is a (semi) faithful recreation of Silver Efex Pro 2. Basically, we’ve spent a lot of time moving every slider in Silver Efex Pro 2, trying to figure out what it was doing, and then trying to recreate the effect. Every algorithm in Silver Effects was written from scratch. Most get pretty close to the original effect. Others, we took a slightly different direction on. Hopefully you’ll find our changes useful.
We will not abandon you. If the day ever comes where we are no longer able to maintain Silver Effects, we will either sell it to a another company who’s as excited about it as we are (with the stipulation that this promise holds to them and through all future sales) or we’ll open source it. Under no circumstances will you be left out in to cold.
And, unlike most other image editing programs out there, we're extremely proud to support Windows, Mac, and Linux!
Silver Efects is currently under heavy development. As such, there are still a few main features that are forthcoming.

Silver Efex Mac Download
We build and test on Windows 10. All of our dependencies work on 7+, so it should work on 7 and 8.1, but are unable to test that at this time.
Mac
We build and test on OS X 10.11. All of our dependencies work on 10.10+, so it should work on 10.10 and 10.12, but we are unable to test that at this time.
Linux
Program is packaged as a *.deb. It depends on Qt 5 and OpenCV 3. We build and test on Ubuntu 17.10 because it's the first version to meet the minimum package requirements. Any Debian based system should be compatible so long as you can find a repository with up-to-date packages of Qt and OpenCV (or if you're really adventurous, you can build them yourself).
Processor
The faster your CPU, the more responsive all of the sliders will be. There is no technical minimum requirement, but you will find the program to be less responsive on older systems.
RAM
Image editing is a RAM intensive task. We recommend at least 4GB, but it will run with less.
GPU
There is no GPU acceleration at this time, so there are no special GPU requirements.
Silver Effects is offered to you for free if you're a starving artist. If you can afford to pay a little more, we deeply appreciate it. When deciding how much to give, please remember, there's a one-to-one correlation between coffee consumption and code production. The more you give, the more coffee we'll drink, the more amazing features we'll add just for you!
Happy image editing!
